Day 01: Arrival in Bhubaneswar – Satkosia
Welcome to Bhubaneswar. Upon arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport / railway station, proceed to Satkosia Tiger Reserve, one of Odisha’s most scenic wildlife regions along the Mahanadi Gorge. Check in to your eco camp / jungle resort. Evening at leisure amidst forest surroundings. Overnight stay in Satkosia
Day 02: Satkosia Jungle Experience
After breakfast, enjoy a day immersed in the wilderness of Satkosia. Sightseeing & Activities include:
Jeep safari through the forested buffer zone
Boat ride on the Mahanadi River through the spectacular Satkosia Gorge
Birdwatching and crocodile spotting along the riverbanks
Nature trails and guided jungle walk
Return to camp by evening. Overnight stay in Satkosia.
Day 03: Satkosia – Bhitarkanika
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Bhitarkanika National Park, Odisha’s famed mangrove wilderness, often called the “Mini Amazon of India.” Check in to eco camp / nature retreat. Evening at leisure by the mangrove creek. Overnight stay in Bhitarkanika
Day 04: Bhitarkanika Mangrove Safari
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day boat safari through the mangrove ecosystem. Sightseeing & Activities include:
Boat safari through creeks and canals of Bhitarkanika
Spot estuarine crocodiles basking along the mangroves
Visit Dangmal Crocodile Interpretation Centre
Birdwatching in one of India’s richest wetland ecosystems
Short guided nature trail through the forest zone
Return to camp by evening. Overnight stay in Bhitarkanika
Day 05: Bhitarkanika – Similipal
After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Similipal National Park, one of India’s largest tiger reserves and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Check in to forest lodge / eco resort. Evening at leisure in the wilderness. Overnight stay in Similipal
Day 06: Similipal Safari – Departure
Start early for a jungle safari through Similipal’s dense sal forests. Sightseeing & Activities include:
Jeep safari through the Similipal forest zone
Spot wildlife in their natural habitat
Visit scenic waterfalls like Barehipani / Joranda (subject to route and season)
Birdwatching and nature photography
Later, proceed to Bhubaneswar / Balasore for your onward journey. Similipal is best visited from November to April; core safari access is seasonal and typically closes during monsoon.
